Add colorspace setting on export
As the simplest of methods, allow the user to choose between sRGB and linear color space when exporting textures. The current convention per channel could stay in as the default but the user should have control to cange it if desired.
Also, open exr should always be in linear space by default, no matter if the texture is based on a color or greyscale channel. Right now, exporting the diffuse / base color will result in an open exr with sRGB profile. (!)
Ultimately, something like OCIO implementation would be great.
Do you have news about that? I really need to work in Linear and ACES!
Yes, please! While sRGB color may be desirable for games, it's not in VFX where we store all maps in linear EXR format, including color maps. Most tools and artists will assume that.
Having to deal with colorspace settings at all leads to unnecessary confusion and convoluted setups (see pbowmars post).
Given how great Substance is, I'm surprised and disappointed that this important suggestion has been ignored since 2016.
Agreed, this caused me quite a lot of headache trying to figure out why an EXR was sRGB! I could find no way in Designer to save as Linear except using an sRGB to Linear filter. But then my render in iRay was all wrong, so I have to remember to disable it until I export.
