  1. 8K Texture export option.

    I would like to make a feature request for Substance Painter: I would really like an option to export in 8K. You do not even have to be able to work in 8K as long as there is the option to let the textures re-generate to 8K. Of course Substance painter should then also recognize 8K base maps.

    It could even be a hidden option that you manually have to turn on in the settings menu. Maybe with a warning that it could be slow and only works on Video cards with more than 3GB of ram. (I have 6GB…

  2. Batch baking

    Baking a large amount of meshes can be a pain because it has to be done individually. We need a batch baking system with global settings.

  3. Instanced Layers, Masks, Effects, etc. for INSTANCED SMART MATERIALS

    Sometimes for a UDIM Workaround, multiple texture sets have identical fill layers, smart materials, masks or effects. For better iteration, it would be great to ALSO have the ability to INSTANCE instead of JUST COPYING. For instance, I would love to be able to change parameters of a single fill layer, generator or effects and have them automatically be exactly the same in all other texture sets where I instanced that fill layer, generator or effects. This would be great for all elements that compose the layer stack. So that we can have INSTANCED SMART MATERIALS for FAST ITERATION.

  4. Camera Support

    FBX camera support or the option to create and save cameras in Painter directly. The cameras are saved in the SPP file and provide reliable, repeatable results that can be directly compared for faster iteration and client review. Even final PR renders in some cases.

    When multiple cameras are active in a scene the Iray renderer could offer a batch mode for unattended rendering of all active cameras.

    Animation: Most of us here don’t need a timeline but turntable functionality with the options to either rotate the mesh or rotate a camera around a freely placeable null object would be…

  5. Hight DPI Settings. They are not?

    Wtf? Why does the application order form not point - address so I can get a magnifying glass on the mail.

  8. Change editing numbers to a double click

    I don't like the way I need to click a edit button to enter a numeric value (the button that looks like a pen in a small button). It seems like a double click would be a more traditional method for editing values. This is the way it works in Substance Designer which is the way I'd expect it to work. And as a bonus, it would declutter the interface a little bit.

  9. Symmetry center based on object pivot point.

    The symmetry system don't work properly when I'm using multiple meshs to bake each part separately. When I am exporting all separate objects together, the Substance Painter create a bounding box covering all objects, but it would be better if the symmetry center was based on a pivot point from one of the separated objects (having the ability to choose which object).

  10. Education license

    It would be really nice to have an educational license because it is an expensive program that I some would not use to gain profit. When looking at the License Agreement it said if you make under $100k profit you should use the Indie but if you make no profit from it it isn't worth it. As a student(Highschool) I cannot afford a program like this but would really enjoy to practice using a program like this for post-college. But my main point is I think it would good work with the program for a non-profit use for people who…

  13. An indicator on layers so its clear that mask has association ( ie generators, fills )

    Perhaps some way to color code masks that have associated generators, fills, etc. Since they do not show up unless the mask is selected.

  14. Make a live link with Unity Game Mode Workflow Updating in Real-time without pressing a button

    One simple setup to send all current layers to Unity in real time so I can look it in game mode while working in Substance Painter. Without the necessity of pressing a button.

  17. Auto create masks from materials and remove all materials assigned to mesh

    It's seems compositing texture sets into one is incredibly long winded, I spend more time making masks than painting the model.

    In order to do it efficiently masks need to be created for each material on a model/mesh. Once the masks are created then the model needs to be edited again to remove the multiple materials and so to only have a single material. At which point you can then load the model into SP and start using your masks. Now after you done all this if you make a slight mistake the process is repeated again. It sucks, andI…

  19. Redesign the User Interface

    Often find myself looking for the right button/feature in Painter due to the fact that most everything looks the same. Everything has the grey/dark grey color with very little to no color indication and there are very few actual "icons" used. This is actually a rather important and serious matter as it puts a lot of strain on my eyes and nerves.

    I am sure I am not the only one thinking that way. I love Painter (and Designer) but I really wish time was taken to address the situation and really think the UI through. If anyone has thoughts…

  20. Brush opacity control = better painting with pressure sensitivy

    Currently there is no opacity control via stylus pressure. There is only flow setting (which is not stroke opacity, as it controls the accumulative flow of the paint). Paint "dab" is added to previous "dab" regardless of stylus pressure, making it impossible to easily blend colors with pressure sensitivity.

    Solution would be to add a new variable "opacity" which could be linked to stylus pressure and a way to turn off paint accumulation.
