  1. Support For Non Square Stencil Textures

    The current tool stretches/squishes any non square texture used as a stencil back into a square for projection.

    Please allow for non square textures.

    Icons and text are just too small to be able to work with SP on a 4K monitor.

  3. Be able to create you own "shelf"

    Be able to create you own "shelf"

    Imported textures are default to show in the "texture Shelf".
    But I feel that is disorganized and difficult to look for the texture

    I think we should have and option to import them to a new shelf or an existing shelf it its something that can be used in other project.

  4. Material Groups

    I would like to be able to group materials in different folders, tabs and so on.

    For example all wood related substances should go in wood substances folder. Same goes for metal ones, then same with plastics and so on.

    Otherwise its a mess right now.

  5. Instanced masks

    Ability to use same mask for multiple layers.

    ... In practice if you change the mask, all the instances of the mask changed as well.
    This feature combined with automatic reloading of external mask files would make Substance painter really powerful as it would enable users to use other software (for example photoshop) for advanced mask creation and see the results nearly in realtime.

  6. toggle fullscreen using tab key for SP + SD

    I think the headline describes the requested feature :)

    especially when working with Substance Painter, a quick way to toggle fullscreen would help a lot!

    Similar to photoshop where you can paint straight lines by holding Shift

  9. Rename texture sets or re-link if renamed in Maya

    I rely on texture set names as a string when I output my texture maps. This is important as a working pipeline to have everything named correctly and export easily. Right now if I want to change "Cat1blue" to "Catblue1" I will have to re-export a fbx with both material, copy and paste in painter (which sometimes mess layers up), export a fbx with just new material just to get rid of old material in Painter. And while it kinda work, I am still forever stuck with an error message in the Log that says I…

  12. Redesign the User Interface

    Often find myself looking for the right button/feature in Painter due to the fact that most everything looks the same. Everything has the grey/dark grey color with very little to no color indication and there are very few actual "icons" used. This is actually a rather important and serious matter as it puts a lot of strain on my eyes and nerves.

    I am sure I am not the only one thinking that way. I love Painter (and Designer) but I really wish time was taken to address the situation and really think the UI through. If anyone has thoughts…

  16. No more padding/bleeding on the exported texture , for better texturep presentation

    It would be nice to avoid that kind of texture padding/bleeding on the finale exported texture. Its kinda difficult for us to know what is what when we have different uv islands , but also to give the final texture to a client . A feature to remove this endge padding would be great :)

  18. sub surface scattering channel

    Have a new channel for shader that would be sub surface scattering , it's a feature becoming more and more used in today games.

  19. Copy content from paint layer to its mask

    I ran into a case where I wanted to copy the content of my paint layer then create a fill layer and paste the paint layer content in the mask channel. Even if it was originally color it could still be pasted as gray scale into the mask channel.

  20. Double sided shading

    Hi,
    I'd like to see double sided shading of single sided geometry in SP. Sometimes you have singlesided polys and would like to see them from both sides even when they show the same texture. For instance when our cloth artists tailor clothes in Marvelous Designer the geometry comes in single sided. that is especially annoying with collars as they look like they are not there at all, because the geometry folds over to form the collar and due to single sided shading is invisible.

    sounds to me like a trivial feature to implement. please do it.
