    The other way (the way it does it now) seems to make no sense.

    Zoom, move around a bit, Zoom more, bit more fiddly moving.

    Finally get the thing you want.

    Easy to improve.

    I can teach a kid. "HOLD ALT.", "SCROLL TO THING YOU WANT BY POINTING AT IT" I can not teach them the other way, it's too infuriatingly counter-intuitive, and harms productivity, thus is non-rewarding. Tough to teach.

  3. Ability to disable Projection and Stencil tiling when zooming them out

    Projection and Stencil tiling becomes very disturbing when working with certain images, please add an option to disable it.

  4. Auto reload textures in shelf and layers when the file is updated.

    When a texture file is updated externally please auto reload it inside of substance painter like Maya does. Currently it takes forever to go through your project manually and update all the layers with any work you've done in Photoshop.

  7. Add mask by an existing layer

    It will be nice to allow an existing layer to be turn into a mask that can be use on other layers.

  8. Ability to quickly copy and paste entire layer stacks from one textureset to another

    I find it terribly frustrating not to be able to copy and paste entire layer stacks. and from one textureset to another you can't copy and paste anything atm. It would also be cool to be able to save a layerstack to an external preset file that you could load onto another scene entirely. That way if you have a lot of assets to texture that all share the same materials, you`d have to do one and get the rest pretty far really quickly. Simply open new object, load layer stack, base texturing done. That way you can focus on…

  9. Swap foreground and background color with shortcut

    Simialr to photoshop's X shortcut. This would provide a fast way to swap black and white while painting masks.

  10. Make Backup project!

    Make autosave project, today I get some error, and my project die, more 3 days work is drop! Plz make autobackup Like in 3ds max, or etc.

  11. Ability to see transparency in the viewport

    When painting opacity mask, it would be useful to see the transparency in the viewport.
    Must have to paint hair, torn cloth, etc

  12. It can't paint the texture out of the model region.

    you can see on this screenshot, I just need a little bit of the brush and the brush circle is out of the model rigion then I can't paint it. how I can finish this step?

  13. Camera Support

    FBX camera support or the option to create and save cameras in Painter directly. The cameras are saved in the SPP file and provide reliable, repeatable results that can be directly compared for faster iteration and client review. Even final PR renders in some cases.

    When multiple cameras are active in a scene the Iray renderer could offer a batch mode for unattended rendering of all active cameras.

    Animation: Most of us here don’t need a timeline but turntable functionality with the options to either rotate the mesh or rotate a camera around a freely placeable null object would be…

  14. Linux version

    Would love to see linux version of Substance tools.
    I have moved my work to linux a year ago (mostly thx to Modo version available) and as the workflow is faster (and surprisingly easier) on this platform I really don't want to move back. But the thing is I increasingly need a texturing solution. Substance would be a great fit (otherwise I'm left to Mari Indie / 3D Coat).
    I'd totally understand if you decide to officialy support only one distro (RHEL / CentOS) for example. With proper design it shouldn't be a problem and should work across unsupported distros…

  15. Make an Octane Render Export Preset

    I need to have an octane preset, why this matter? Because I use octane, but you have2 models of PBR, and looks like none of them are accurate with octane, because you use glossiness as roughness on specular/glossiness, and I need specular/roughness. and the reason I am asking this is that you now use PBR metal roughness on Substance Painter, witch .......

    Please redefine your definitions,about how to avoid confusions, and make a preset for main renders out there for use, because if we do not have a reliable way to take out the material from substance painter, or designer…

  16. Allow for changing the default location of the materials

    The location: Users***\Documents\Substance Painter\shelf\presets\materials

    is no good for me.

    I do everything from the D: drive other than run the OS.

    Please allow us to change the Users***\Documents\Substance Painter\shelf\presets\materials location to one of our choosing?

    There is no room on that drive for that.

  17. 8K Texture export option.

    I would like to make a feature request for Substance Painter: I would really like an option to export in 8K. You do not even have to be able to work in 8K as long as there is the option to let the textures re-generate to 8K. Of course Substance painter should then also recognize 8K base maps.

    It could even be a hidden option that you manually have to turn on in the settings menu. Maybe with a warning that it could be slow and only works on Video cards with more than 3GB of ram. (I have 6GB…

  18. Change editing numbers to a double click

    I don't like the way I need to click a edit button to enter a numeric value (the button that looks like a pen in a small button). It seems like a double click would be a more traditional method for editing values. This is the way it works in Substance Designer which is the way I'd expect it to work. And as a bonus, it would declutter the interface a little bit.

  19. Possibility to save baked textures to file.

    For example i'd like to export AO as a texture to use in Unity. I can do it now but it's long and annoying workaround.

  20. Command Line Exporting

    To add Substance Painter to the farm we need to specify these options via the command line:
    - project to load
    - texture set(s) to export
    - export preset to use
    - textures in the preset to export

    The goal for us is to take the 1h+ export time and split it among 20 computers each exporting a single texture (normal, diffuse, etc) for a single UDIM.
