Brush opacity control = better painting with pressure sensitivy
Currently there is no opacity control via stylus pressure. There is only flow setting (which is not stroke opacity, as it controls the accumulative flow of the paint). Paint "dab" is added to previous "dab" regardless of stylus pressure, making it impossible to easily blend colors with pressure sensitivity.
Solution would be to add a new variable "opacity" which could be linked to stylus pressure and a way to turn off paint accumulation. This brush mode combines all of the paint dabs inside single continuous stroke so that hardest pressure pixels replace the lower pressure pixels instead of adding to them (like in accumulation) while lower pressure pixels have no effect. This makes strokes easily controllable with tablet pressure, allowing for large swathes to be colored and blended quickly.
I guess this is the biggest missing feature of SP..
This is like the brush in Photoshop. It makes for better painting.
where is it ? im surprised and dissapointed this is not a feature yet :/
I'm just trying the latest version and was surprised this feature is missing. It's marked completed here but doesn't seem like it actually is.
That's the number 1 reason why one has to use 3D-Coat instead of Substance : you can't paint in Substance. It's amazing that after all this time improving this outstanding sotware, Allegorithmic hasn't implemented this mandatory option for any artist who's hand-paint his meshes.
Check Gumroad Pro tutorials. Every 3D (hand) painter goes with 3D-Coat. That's a shame.
What do you mean "completed"? There is absolutely no pressure option for Opacity right now, just Flow as it has always been.
Is this really completed?
Overlapping paint dabs still accumulate inside stroke regardless of stylus pressure. This is not how Photoshop brushes work.
Thank you SO MUCH Allegorithic for implementing this feature for us!
Hand painting is coming.
Awesome glad you guys are going to add this Thank you
+100000000 it's the only big downside of painting with painter.
+1 any additional brush improvements to bring it closer to Photoshop feel for painting is welcome
+1 to this. I'm amazed Allegorithmic didn't do this before launching SP2.
This is urgently needed to do create handpainted textures! Its such an obvious feature. I really wonder why its still missing in painter 2.
