Save camera view to make it easy to re-render a scene
It would be nice to be able to save a "view" to make it easy to re-render a scene, matching a picture you rendered once before.
Ideally it should include your environment (****/ground) settings too.
1) Paint a model.
2) Set up the perfect composition of zoom, camera angle, environment rotation, etc.
3) Render it, very likely using Iray.
4) Do more painting, which involves zooming, changing orientation, etc.
5) Now re-render your "ideal" composition again.
6) You need to try to manually recreate the view you had in Steps #2 and 3.
The ability to "Save Scene View" and "Restore Scene View" for your project would be good, even if just for a single view.
This would be even more useful if you could save a preset that you could choose in any project. That way I could have the same angle and settings very easily on a separate object in case I wanted to put them in the same scene but render them individually.

I agree this is a huge pain. Would certainly be a nice feature.

I can't believe they still didn't add this one!
The biggest flaw of Substance Painter I've came across so far.
This one is critical for me too. If it's not too burdensome, let's have multiple cameras as well!
I had a scene, trying to optimize the grain structure – but must not zoom in… because I would loose the camera position :-(
For a tweaking software this is nonsense. In Mari for example I can import or export alembic cameras, that gives me the same result in Maya.
And the export of textures vom Painter to Maya is way too complicated…
I agree !!! wasted half a day, couldn't match camera positions again

I also think this is a critical feature for those of us doing post processing.
I was ready to buy SP but this missing feature is critical for me as well. I would have thought the ability to repeat renders from the same camera positions was an obvious need. Did this get in to SP 2018?
Maybe with a safe box that indicates the space that iRay is rendering, my computer is too slow for iRay and I spend the same time that the render takes, trying to calibrate my scene T.T

upd: need it in designer too ^^

Yes, saving camera and light settings is super nesessary feature.
Now that Pascal GPU (GTX 10xx) support for Iray works in Substance Painter, I find myself using Iray even more than before. That also means I frequently switch back-and-forth between Iray rendering and the OpenGL window for Painting.
I really, really wish I could save the camera orientation in the Iray window (and the OpenGL window too) so that I could re-render the exact same composition after zooming and rotating during the painting process.
"Thank you" to everyone who has cast a precious vote here.
This is really a badly missing feature!
Odd... the word "****" (d-o-m-e) got turned into asterisks.
Maybe I had a typo, but anyway, that's the word to use in front of "ground" where you see "****".
