Opacity controlled by Pen Pressure
Since the original idea was erroneously marked as "completed", I'll post this here in more detail.
We need to have the ability to control the opacity setting through pen pressure. The 2.5 documentation claims that setting flow to pen pressure will give the same result, but this is not true.
Strokes are still additive when set this way. Running a single stroke back over itself with the same pressure should not increase the amount of color added.
We are currently hardly better off now than we were before 2.5 when hand painting textures.
Normally you should be able to decide (like in Photoshop) which mode you set. Some people need to control the flow (like me), some people need to work with absolute opacity values (like you).
So Substance needs a button, that controls whether you want to steer opacity or flow.
But it should not only change the default to only one of those options. Both were needed.
Yeah.. we really need this.
When I paint with 30% hand pressure I expect the color of a brush to level around this value. Within same stroke if I increase hand pressure to 60% thats what the brush is supposed to paint with. If I decide within same stroke to drop hand pressure down to 10% I expect brush to drop to that value and paint at that color level. That is how all other software behaves. Instead we have some awful permanent additive mode that keeps building up and up through flow. It is unusable. People ask for this for years. I do not understand how this is not the highest priority. Being able to actually paint in PAINTER seems kinda important. You are owned by Adobe. Ask them how to do proper brushes.
Seems like a very basic feature that is not implemented yet. Main reason why people use 3d coat for hand painting textures.
How is this not a thing? unless I'm missing something.
