Duplicate/move a mask frow a layer to another
It would be great to be able to move a mask or duplicate it from a layer (or folder) to another, like in Photoshop. For example if I create a layer with a mask and then I want to add another layer that applies on the same areas.
You can also create a smart mask from your current mask and reapply it where needed.
I just had this issue myself. I had a part of the model that i duplicated and used elsewhere, i wanted it to have its own texture because the rotation was different and i want to be sure to pick up the baked light filter info. Parts of the object were masked out and when i tried to apply the texture to the second object the masks were lost, i tried everything and in the end i just had to recreate them, which was a fiddly waste of time.
Hmm, I had this recently. I had already started some guidelines on a default layer, but later on decided they could be better used as a mask.
"Copy as mask" would be a great addition on any layer in the context menu.
Wait, I found a solution. "paste into mask" only works with a BLACK MASK. Obviously...
Did you find out how? I'm stuck on this too. I've tried dragging, no luck. I've tried "copy mask to clipboard", but never find an option for paste. I've tried Ctril+Shift+C but again no paste button. Help!
You can already copy masks and paste them to another layer or folder :)
