Install multiple version of Substance Painter through Substance Launcher
In Unreal you can install multiple versions of Unreal Engine. I would like the same function for Substance Launcher. The reason for this is many of us for sure works with difference clients. More often than not they have preference as to which version of SP to use. So having to install different version and build will give us flexibility.
I agree with the setiments here, it's necessary for production, projects are often revisited at studios even and require use of older software.
Every other software I use Maya, Zbrush etc can install multiple versions without problem. Substance painter not be able to do this is very problematic for freelancers. It's a constant re-installations of substance painter to get everything to work. This is ridiculous.
The problem I see with preferences and shelves, is that they overwrite themselves. This I think could be fixed if the folders would be installed in naming convention where it has version number in the documents folder. And also make the software to recognize the differences.
Absolutely agree! At the very least allow per Windows user installations that would allow multiple user preferences and shelves without overwriting!
