Hide Selected geometry
for we can select and hide parts of geometry
I can' t understand why such an important feature is missing. otherwise I am very satisfied with the software. But if i have to paint an airplane model with various internal parts, i have to switch to photoshop, because i can't hide parts of the airplane.
I'd really really like to be able to hide objects as i paint . It's a massive pain to paint behind things at the moment.
Switching textures sets is a massive pain. It's time consuming to setup and if you make a mistake you do it a again. Plus when you bake your textures everything is scattered so if you want everything on the same texture page you have to do a bunch of masking and merging to bring multiple textures together onto the same page.
This is such an obviously needed feature a i can't believe it isn't done yet :(

This should be an integral part of this software.
Be able to easily hide and unhide parts of a model. You can already fill parts of a model and select it with the fill tool. Also add an outliner that lets you select and hide the objects in the scene. It's really annoying to have to have an exploded model so you can see them and be able to easily paint on the hiddn parts. Texture sets don't cut it, since you don't bake all the texture sets to one texture with the click of one button.
I find it really distressing that this issue is still tagged as `backlog`. Given how essential it is and how long it has been requested.
If I need to do a separate mesh + texture set every time part of an object is hidden, the game engine will melt down.
its been almost 5 years since this feature is requested and its still not implemented, im trying to texture the inside of a **** I absolutely need to able to hide geometry on the fly.
Guys I am now texturing an object with a lot of parts. PLEASE add the ability to hide parts of the mesh, please!!! A list with the separate parts of the imported mesh would be great. SP is a amazing tool but it is unforgiving to miss such a super important feature. Also the unabiility to disable backface selection when using the Polygon Fill tool slows down my work 2 folds. Please add these features! Thank you!

The lack of this feature was understandable in the early days in 2014 but this is starting to get downright ridiculous, every other software can do this.
Must have please. Well over 100 parts on a vehicle I'm working on. Meshes are getting more complicated.

My game (and many others, assumingly) does not take too kindly to a large number of materials. I want multiple different materials on different meshes within a single texture file and Blender material, rather than an individual texture/material for each object.
So why not take into account the different separated and named objects within the base mesh, and allow a separate mode to paint masks/materials onto named objects?
This really is a must have for larger models!
