Add mask by an existing layer
It will be nice to allow an existing layer to be turn into a mask that can be use on other layers.
This is completed? Can someone please provide instructions on how to add a mask from an existing layer? Thanks.

I'm pretty new to the software, and was looking for this feature. Coming from Photoshop, I just assumed without a doubt this was possible. Are you telling me that there is no way to create a mask from paint information (the boundaries of the painted area) in one layer, to make sure I only paint within that area on another layer? That's just such a simple thing! There should be a function similar to the **********, complete with edge refinement.
100% this. Surprised this isn't already implemented. BUMP!
This would be super useful!
It should be really easy to just convert the brush strokes of a paint layer to a mask, I don't understand why this is not possible yet. You can copy the contents of a paint layer and paste it into another paint layer, you can also copy the contents of a painted mask into another mask, so the functionality of copying brush strokes from one place to the other is already there.
