Directional light and shadow support
Image based lighting is great, but it lacks a main directional light casting high quality shadows. It would help a lot in model showcasing.
Tellychris, you have to turn off the HDR panorama. Just go to the materials menu, you will find it in the channels option (Latitude/Longitude panorama) I have spent hours searching for this, that was basically the last thing I tried. Too bad nobody tells this (especially in the tutorial).
Hello. This artist is getting real time shadows in his view port. How do we attain this?
If we're getting directional lighting and shadows, it would also be amazing to be able to save them to a texture! Then we could add the texture as a multiply fill layer and it'd be baked right into the final output's colour for use in simple shaders, a process that is currently extremely tedious and requires other third party software.
I agree, we need this feature!
