A 3D tool that is the exact copy of Painter but for creating 3D assets creation (A new 3D editor)
This new software is like Painter but instead of materials, has shaped. Instead of colour textures has displacement deformation for modelling. You can sculpt using mask and layers. In the layer panel, there can be the boolean combination as well as the actual ones like multiplication, subtraction, etc... Making 3d modelling procedurally, in the same way, is Painter. Similar to painting in 3D using a brush (Zbrush) but each element contains ready-made UV in it. An effect like in Painter can sculpt. And it can contain curved displacement content that came out from Substance Designer that amplifies their shape. That export in FBX and include different LOD. An automatic Ai UV unfolds unwrapping system can be included so that is easy to import content. You can create your initial mesh in other software and later improve it and finish it in this new tool.
If Algorithmic can purchase Rhino3D that has a lot of ready-made content for making industrial hard surface (similar NURBS type), will be easy to convert to mesh and unwrap following Rhino polysurface edges. If Ai in implanted learning this UV process can be skep in the workflow.
CONCLUSION
This tool allowed you to import FBX mesh content or IGES CAD surface content convert it to mesh. Make the UV unfold unwrap automatically. And start modelling that mesh procedurally using layers, adding erosion effects. And finally, export to Painter with different LOD.
NOTES: is better to do all this inside Painter since then apply colour we need to apply also tessellation and export from Painter different LOD.
